Market Insight
Market Insight gathers information from notices in Norway and other European countries. The sources are Doffin, TED, udbud.dk and HILMA. You can see awards, participants and contracting authorities when the information is included in the notices.
See coverage and limitations by country. The information provides a basis for researching the market, but it is not a complete overview of all purchases.
Check the country filter in your search. The workspace's country selection is used as a starting point, but you can change countries for each search.
What do the contract values mean?
Estimated value is the estimate stated in the notice. Check whether it applies to the entire procurement or a single lot.
Awarded contract value is the amount stated in the award notice. It is not evidence of what the supplier later invoiced.
Actual invoiced value is not retrieved from the buyer's accounts in this overview.
Do not treat a contract amount as annual revenue without checking the duration, options and what the amount covers. For framework agreements, the published value is also no guarantee of how much will actually be purchased.
A missing value means we do not have the amount in our data. It does not mean the contract has zero value. Also check the currency before comparing amounts.
Why are the winner, participants or documents missing?
We depend on the information the buyer publishes. A competition may be listed even if an award notice has not been published or linked to it. Participant lists and contract values may also be incomplete.
The competition basis may be missing even when the notice is available. See how to get the documents. Check the original notice and documents before using the information to make a decision.
Navigation and Filtering
You find Market Insight on the Search page. At the top you switch between the Notices, Contracting Authorities and Suppliers tabs, and you can use the filter panel to narrow down your analysis.
The Contracting Authorities and Suppliers tabs are included in every plan, including the free plan. You need to be signed in and have a workspace to open them. Without an account, Cobrief asks you to sign up or create a workspace.
How to Use the Filters to Find Relevant Insights
To avoid scrolling through thousands of results, Cobrief gives you effective filters. These are especially useful for finding the most relevant insights. You can easily narrow down your search by filtering on:
Time and category: You can refine your search based on Publication date, as well as use Keywords, Service area or the official CPV codes for precise, industry-specific matches.
If you want to see which tenders a specific supplier has won or participated in, or get insight into the history of a specific procurer (for example Oslo Municipality), you can filter directly on these or choose the right tab.
Dive Deeper Into an Award
When you click on an awarded competition in the overview, you get access to more detailed information:
Brief: Cobrief generates a concise brief of the historical competition, summarizing the available information about the competition. You can also view the full notice for an overview of the entire announcement.
Similar competitions: The system suggests related active tenders if you scroll further down. This helps you map a broader market potential as well as find new and relevant competitions.
Check the Competition With the Suppliers Tab
The Suppliers tab shows the suppliers in our data. Key figures such as tenders won, participations and win rate are based on the notices we have. Missing award data may affect the figures.
How to Use the Suppliers Tab:
Search for a competitor: Use the search field to quickly find a specific competitor.
See the contracts they hold: Inside the supplier profile you get a clear overview of:
Awarded contracts: Which agreements they have won in recent years.
Participation: Which competitions they have participated in.
Expiry dates: You can check the end date and duration when these are provided. Check options and later changes before planning around the date.
Find the Expiry Date on a Competitor's Contracts
Want to know exactly when to position yourself for the next tender? Then you need to know when the competitor's current contract expires. The Suppliers tab in Cobrief gives you the overview, but to find the end date of the contract you need to do a small deep dive.
Here's how to find the expiry date:
Search for the supplier: Go to Search and the Suppliers tab. Search for the company you want to check.
View the overview: When you click on the supplier, a side panel appears with key figures and a list of competitions they have won or participated in.
Open the tender: In the list you see the names of the tenders. To see the details, you must click on the tender card itself in the list.
Find the date: When the tender is expanded or opened in detail view, you'll see the End date or duration if the information is available.
Procurer
See which public procurers need your products or services. Find new potential customers and establish important relationships early. To get the full picture and identify new sales opportunities, you also need to look at the procurers' history. The Contracting Authorities tab shows the historical and active notices we have for a specific contracting authority.
Understand the needs: See which products and services the procurer has purchased historically. This is perfect for understanding their priorities and needs before reaching out.
Find procurers: Search for the contracting authority to see the competitions we have recorded for them.
Early positioning: Use the insights to contact the procurer long before a tender is announced.
Use your findings
Use awards, contract periods and buyer history to identify potential customers and upcoming needs. Check the key details in the notice before following up.
